THE HUMBER BAY RIVER SERIES 2024-2025

The series began as an exploration of my environment using my senses and capturing it through the lens of my camera. I then selected the best photographs to represent this new exploration. Next, I translated this experience into my sketchbook, focusing on colour and expressive strokes to capture the dynamic environment. I was pleased with what I had captured in my sketchbook, and the final step was to experiment with different materials to execute this new body of work. 

My goal was to create a journey for the viewer, allowing them to immerse themselves in these moments. They can experience a sense of stillness, get lost in thought, feel the expressiveness of the sky, and hear the sound of the water crashing against the shore.
